Help Rebecca Beat Leukaemia!
My name is Rebecca Kamanu Chizaram, and I’m 25 years old. I’ve always been a strong girl balancing work and my daughter's school runs, but last month, my life took a frightening turn. I started feeling dizzy and weak, and I had frequent episodes of rapid heartbeat, even with minimal movement. One morning, I nearly collapsed from dizziness upon standing. Initially, I dismissed it, but as the symptoms persisted, I grew worried. I visited a lab for tests, which revealed my PCV (packed cell volume) was alarmingly low at 15%. Thinking it was a simple issue, I bought blood tonics from a pharmacy, hoping they’d help. However, my condition worsened, and a follow-up test showed my PCV had dropped to 11%. Realizing the severity, I stopped working and informed my family. With their support, I was admitted to a hospital where I received five units of blood to stabilize my levels. Further tests, including a blood sample sent to India, confirmed a diagnosis of acute leukemia.
My doctor urgently recommended a bone marrow transplant. I’m now reaching out for help to raise funds for this critical surgery.
My family and I are overwhelmed, and living with leukemia is taking a severe toll on my health. Any assistance, no matter how small, would mean the world to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can offer.
Your kindness could help save my life.
