ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND: Ifeanyichukwu Okawra Foundation is a registered non-governmental entity.
We are an operational NGO, meaning we plan and carry out boots-on-the-ground projects to accomplish our
objectives. This requires a great deal of careful planning, communication and local involvement for each project.
Our goal as an organization is to accomplish LIVELIHOOD CHALLENGE.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: 1. providing skill acquisition training for artisans and vulnerable members ofsociety.
2. Providing education for out-of-school children.
3. Providing educational material for the poorschool children.
4. Providing cheap and affordable housing for homeless and vulnerable members ofsociety.
5. Providing funds in the form of goods and commercial aids to small business and artisans.
THE POVERTY PROBLEM: With the projected 2022 figures, the number of poor persons in Nigeria has had four
years increase of 14.7% from the 2018/19 figure of 82.1 million to the projected 95.1 million in 2022. Poverty
rate have been aided by the impact of the COVID-19 crises and growing population. Nearly all possible
consequences of poverty have an impact on children’s lives, its manifestations include; hunger and malnutrition
limited access to education and other basic services, social discrimination and exclusive as well as the lack of
participation in decision making, lack of electricity, lack of clean water, shelter and many more.
PROJECT GOAL: LIVELIHOOD CHALLENGE, this project aims to support the old, children, youth and women in
highly vulnerable minority populations with limited or no access to livelihoods and income generation
opportunities. The project promotes sustainable and dignified living conditions to the people living in the rural
areas in Nigeria. This project offers training to youths that will help them find paid employment as well as giving
the women the training, equipment and market access needed to generate income.
Our entity will work with community based and locally-led so that we can identify the vulnerable
member in the rural area, we serve women, youths, widows and children to provide medical, social as well as,
integration activities, material and financial support, education and information services, training and clean
water.
Ifeanyichukwu Okwara Foundation will organize a gathering for screening process in Imo state and
Abia state after the indigens and traditional rulers have shortlisted deligates, some participants will undergo
business training and they will receive fund or productive assets from our foundation to launch a small business
and they will get other forms of social support.
Some other participants will be trained on handwork skills like; Shoe making, tailoring, produce of
liquid soaps, hair stylist, makeup artist, acting, insecticides and many other things, after the training we will
provide them with necessary equipment’s to start up theirs. We can’t end poverty on our own, so we will do
partnerships and work closely with the government, local and international non-profit, and private sectors. There will be social protection for the old and widows that can’t fend for themselves even if there’s
an opportunity for them to do so, that includes; cash transfers, food support and access to health care.
There will be home visits by staffs to provide coaching, encouragement and accountability.
BUDGET: Ifeanyichukwu Okwara Foundation requires the support of generous benefactors in other to move
forward. The outline below:
